Template · Story + gameplay split screen

Reddit Story Video Generator

The storytime format: a discussion-post card on top, a moving background underneath, an AI voice reading the story and captions popping in word by word. We write an original story around what you want to promote, then render it. No filming, no uploads.

Uses the Story + gameplay split screen template.

Free to sign up. Scripts cost nothing; template videos are 1 credit each, and new accounts start with 10 free credits.

Story post card about a neighbor taking packages, above a teal block-city background with the caption “pot and ordered”
The same post card above an orange background, captions reading “what I saw”
The post card above a purple background, the caption on the split line

Frames from our own sample render of this template. The community, username, numbers and story are made up; the background is generated in code.

How a story video is structured

The sample render, beat by beat (about 31 seconds). The post title is read first and stays on screen; every paragraph after it moves the story one step.

BeatOn screenVoiceover
Hook0:00–0:05Post card fades in: community, username, title. Background starts moving.“My neighbor kept taking my packages, so I set up a camera. What I saw changed everything.”
Problem0:05–0:09Captions pop in on the split line, one word highlighted at a time.“For three weeks, every package I ordered vanished from my porch.”
Agitate0:09–0:19The background keeps running; its color changes every nine seconds.“So I hid a tiny camera in a flower pot… It was my neighbor's eight year old son.”
Twist0:19–0:28Same layout; the captions carry the reveal.“He carried each box to his house, then brought it back… Turns out he was saving the bubble wrap.”
Payoff0:28–0:31Last line, then the loop point.“I now order extra bubble wrap. On purpose.”

Why the format keeps working

A story video asks almost nothing of the viewer. The post title works as a headline, the voice reads it for anyone scrolling with the sound on, the captions carry it for anyone with the sound off, and the moving background below gives the eyes something to do between sentences.

The Reddit-style story we broke down while building this template ran close to three minutes on an AI voice, with pop-in captions and a hook that framed a conflict in under three seconds. The beats went hook, problem, rising tension, twist, payoff. Our template follows the same order, usually at a shorter length.

An original story, written for you

We don't pull posts from Reddit, and you shouldn't either: reading someone's post out loud in your video is their writing, not yours. The story is written from your brief, so it belongs to you.

Right now every remix is written around something you promote: a product, a shop, an app, a service or your own channel. The brief can be as short as a name, one sentence and three things worth knowing. The story can be a customer's experience, a mistake that led to the product, or a small scene from running the business. The post card shows a generic community and username; no platform logo is used.

About the gameplay background

Popular story videos often sit on top of mobile game or parkour footage. We don't use game recordings: they belong to the game's publisher and to whoever captured them. Our background is an abstract endless-run scene generated in code, so there is nothing to license and nothing to get flagged. Its color changes every nine seconds, which does the same job of keeping the lower half moving.

When to use a story video

Good fit

  • Channels that post stories, confessions or “AITA”-style dilemmas
  • Brands with a real customer story or a founder story to tell
  • Apps and services where the product is easier to explain as a situation than as a list of features

Not a good fit

  • Products that need to be seen working: use the product demo or before and after template
  • Copying a real post word for word: write your own story

Reddit story video questions

Do I need to upload anything?

No. The post card, background, voice and captions are all generated. You only write a short brief about what the story should promote.

Can I use a real Reddit post?

We don't import posts, and reusing someone's post in your video can get it taken down. The story is written from your brief instead.

Can I use Minecraft or Subway Surfers gameplay?

Not at the moment. The background is an abstract scene we generate in code, so there is no third-party footage in your video.

How much does it cost?

Signing up is free and the script is free. Each rendered video costs 1 credit, and new accounts start with 10 free credits. Videos on the free plan have a small watermark.

How long are the videos?

The length follows the story you get: the voice reads every line once. Our sample runs about 31 seconds.
